MEMO AND THE NOTEBOOKS

Memo and The Notebooks is a genre-mixing band with roots in San Jose and Santa Cruz, CA. Over the past year, the group has grown into a focused four-piece, building an identity that pulls from hip-hop, indie, punk, and hardcore without settling into any single lane.

The band is Memo Renteria on vocals and guitar, Chris Askins on guitar and keyboards, Eric Van Lare on bass, and Andy Bridger on drums. Playing together consistently has sharpened both the arrangements and the dynamic, giving their songs room to move between intensity, groove, and texture without losing momentum.

Live, Memo and The Notebooks lean into personality as much as volume. Shows tend to feel informal and loose, sometimes with a GameCube or Nintendo 64 running Smash Bros. off to the side. Whether they're playing a punk venue or an all-ages space, the set stays loud, direct, and grounded in the room.

After a year of playing together, Memo and The Notebooks continue to shape their sound through live shows and new material, and they're having fun doing it.
